Thrissur Association of Kuwait celebrated “POORAM-2017”, on Friday, at Pakistan English School, Abbasiya. Celebration was officially inaugurated by Association President Mr. JEEVES ERINJERI.


Thrissur Association of Kuwait provides a platform for cultural exchange of Malayalee expatriates in Kuwait from the cultural capital of Thrissur and looking after welfare of its members especially promoting Social, Educational, Cultural and relief activities and to an extend to its fellow Indians and public.


The multicolored traditional and modern entertainment programs staged throughout day since morning 11am till 10 Pm. Variety of entertainment along with competitions were arranged for all age groups such as Cinematic Dance, Folk Dance, Fashion show, traditional (Nadan Pattu) songs, Salad Dressing & Payasam (Sweets) making.


Traditional song (Naadan Pattu) competition were open for public to commemorate the renowned South Indian artist Late Mr. Kalabhavan Mani.


Traditionally decorated elephant & Pooram Procession along with “Chenda Melam”  (percussion using multiple traditional drums) was highlight of Thrissur Pooram-2017 in which by all means the entire crowd enjoyed being at such a traditional festive mood being away from hometown. Thrissur Pooram, the most spectacular festival event, called the Pooram of all the poorams, is the beiggest festival held in the state of Kerala, and Vadakkunathan Temple at Thrissur is the host temple. The festival is well known for its magnificent display for fireworks. The organizers succeeded in creating a mini form of pooram to its members and well-wishers in Kuwait.


POORAM–2017 by Thrissur Association of Kuwait, the Cultural meeting was held at 6PM in which the Program Coordinator Mr. Preman Nariampully welcomed the audience while Presidential speech was delivered by Thrissur Association President Mr. Jeeves Erinjery.


Al-Mulla Exchange Marketing Manager Mr.Hufaz, CEO of  4PM news – Mr. Jayakumar,  association general secretary Mr.Sijo Sunny, Vanithavedi (Ladies wing)general convenor Mrs.Santhi Venugopal, Kalikalam (students wing) coordinator Miss.Nandana Santhosh were delivered  felicitations speeches.


Mr.Anto Chirayath gave vote of thanks all those supported the event to a great success such as sponsors / participants/ judges and audience. Trophies and gifts were handed during event to   all winners of competitions.


The multicolored pooram-2017 winded up with a vibrant Musical band…
