The Onam-Eid meet conducted by Souhr souhrudavedi Salmiya stood out for the delicious sadhya, a variety of programs and excellent participation. Saurudavedi President George Pious presided over the Onam Eid meet which was held at Nandanam Auditorium Salmiya. KIG East Zone Vice President Abdurahman K inaugurated the function. Indian Community School Principal Rajesh Nair delivered the Onam message. He said that more than going into the history of Onam, what was important was implementing the values of Onam in the current times and Mahabali who was demon king is still being celebrated because of his actions which were great, which shows that a person becomes great not by birth, but by his deeds.
Anees Farooqi said that the values which religions and their festival put forth are always in tune with the times and Onam, as well as Eid, puts forth the dignity and equality of mankind. Father Georgy Varghese of Kuwait Marthoma Church, Sri Anil Kumar and Daniel Kurian felicitated the gathering.
The cultural events started off with the Onam Song of little stars and were followed by solo performances of Sisil Krishnan, Amalendu Anil Kumar, Faisal Babu, Muneer and Master Mishal Muneer. Anil Attuva entertained the audience with a folk song and Mohamed Abdul Salam displayed his dancing skills. The 'Vanchippaattu' by Azimon and team was a variety event which entertained the audience. Ismail, Safwan, Nasser Oravinkal, Asif Khalid, Ajmal and Hasanul Banna conducted the programs. Souhrudavedi Secretary Manoj Parimanam welcomed the audience and vice president Mohamed Shibily proposed the vote of thanks.
