The Indian Social Forum (ISF) Kuwait has hailed the spectacular triumph of the Jignesh Mevani from Vadgam constituency in the Gujarat Assembly elections.

ISF General Secretary, Rafeek Manchi in a statement has congratulated the 35-year-old Dalit leader who has led a campaign by Dalits who are considered 'lower castes' in the Indian caste hierarchy.

Manchi appreciated the Mevani’s effort in organizing movements against atrocities on Dalits in Una and leading a 'Freedom March' demanding the Gujrat government to allocate agricultural land to Dalits.

The Indian Social Forum congratulated Jignesh Mevani and the people of Vadgam constituency for electing the young community leader.

With the victory of Jignesh Mevani, the flame of hope begins to flicker again among the backward classes ISF stated in its press release.
