Actor John Abraham-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Force 2 has earned Rs 30.15 crore in its first week, makers said. The action film is being appreciated and actor Tahir Bhasin’s portrayal of the bad guy has been garnering him accolades, said a press release.

Force 2 presented by Viacom18 Motion Pictures in association with Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd and JA Entertainment Pvt Ltd, released on November 18. Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has earned Rs 112.14 crore at the box office in India. This is Ranbir Kapoor’s second biggest hit beating Barfi that collected Rs 112 crore.

“ADHM has had an amazing run at the box office and we are thrilled to know that this has become the second biggest hit of Ranbir Kapoor. Karan Johar’s directorial has become a huge hit because of the love the audiences have showered,” Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios said in a statement here.

Meanwhile, John Abraham said that his latest release Force 2 is doing well but demonetisation did have the slight impact on the collections.

The 43-year-old actor, who stars as ACP Yashvardhan in the film, which is a sequel to his 2011 hit, said if the content of the film is strong it will surely work at the box office.

“Demonetisation did affect Force 2 marginally. But the fact is after ‘Madras Cafe’ I have not seen so many positive reviews from the audience. ‘Force 2’ showed everybody in the entertainment industry that if your content is good, people will come and watch,” John told PTI.
