Govinda: Sometimes, your effort doesn’t reach the audience

Bollywood star Govinda is known as much for his dance moves as he is for his sense of humour. The actor is all set to make his comeback with the upcoming comedy thriller 'Aa Gaya Hero', in which he plays a cop. Govinda, who will be returning to the big screen after making a cameo appearace in films like 'Kill Dill' and 'Happy Ending'.

In an exclusive interview with Bombay Times, Govinda revealed his reasons behind doing the kind of films he does, and also about determination to 'satisfy' his fans' expectations.

Govinda opened up about his approach to his work and films saying, "My approach has always been to work so that I can support my family. I never planned my movies. I never selected subjects to win the National Award. I did films that made the masses happy. Sometimes, you have to sacrifice your talent to please the public. When I signed films with big directors, they didn't fare well, but whenever I did projects with zero expectations, they did great business."

Talking about making his comeback, he says, "When I decided to make a comeback, I had to cash in on my brand of cinema; I didn't want to disappoint the public. People liked my performances in 'Kill Dill' and 'Happy Ending', but I was hardly there in them. Sometimes, your effort doesn't reach the audience. I've ensured that my upcoming film will satisfy people who come to see a Govinda film."
