The German automaker Audi, has quite a number of models in India, with almost all of them doing significantly well. The Audi A3 however, is the company’s entry level luxury sedan in the Indian market. The global Audi A3 had undergone cosmetic as well as mechanical changes back in 2016. This revised A3 is all set to step on the Indian soil by the first quarter of 2017.

The Audi A3 features many technical changes. The sedan has a 1.4-litre TFSI engine, similar to what we get in the new generation Audi A4. The engine makes a maximum power of 150 bhp. This is a downscaled engine of the current 1.8-litre engine that made a whopping 180 bhp power. In terms of the diesel variant, the facelifted A3 may feature a powerful 2.0-litre engine. The oil burner mill will be mated with a DSG transmission and the power will be transmitted to the front wheels.

Nothing much has changed as per the interiors. Amidst the similar interior feel, the most noticeable change is the introduction of an Audi Virtual Cockpit and a flat bottom steering. The instrument cluster is replaced by a 12.3-inch TFT screen. Moreover, 7-inch MMI screen, that is centre mounted, has also been revised.

The Audi A3 is not the only one car in the company’s pipeline for the Indian market. The A3 Cabriolet is likely to follow soon. The facelifted sedan is expected to be priced higher than the outgoing model, roughly at around Rs. 32 lakhs mark. After the launch, the Audi A3 will be facing stiff competitions from its peers like Mercedes Benz CLA and the recently facelifted Volvo A40.
