The skin on the neck is much thicker than the face and can produce a lot of oil. Because of this, the acne on your back can also get much severe and form cysts, nodules and even large comedones.

One of the common reasons of getting acne on the neck can be irritation. Collared shirts, knits, and turtle necks that rub on the skin of the neck can aggravate acne on the neck. To avoid such friction, don't wear tight collars and harsh fabrics.

The other reason can also be your hair! Oily hair and dandruff can trigger such acne—the transfer of oil from hair can cause clogged pores, which later results in acne. To prevent this, change your hair care products to treat acne and oily hair.

Lastly, dirty pillows, bra-straps, and excessive sweating can also lead to sebum production. To prevent acne, go for baths after work out and use body washes with salicylic acid to control body acne.
