1.4 mln bachelors currently living in Kuwait; Kuwaitis 316,000: statistics

KUWAIT CITY : As per official statistics, the number of people classified as non-married and currently living in Kuwait is about 1.4 million, including 316,000 Kuwaitis from both sexes, says Khaleej Times.

Report added the number of male Kuwaiti bachelors is 170,000 and their female counterparts reach 150,000, according to Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) statistics. It also said non-Kuwaiti bachelors constitute 850,000 and their female counterparts make up 230,000.

Meanwhile, there are 2.062 million married people in Kuwait, of which 1.3 million are male and 745,000 female. Kuwaitis constitute 477,000 of the number (male and female) while non-Kuwaiti married men make up 1.8 million and the women 500,000.

Report pointed to a total of 86,000 divorcees (32,000 male and 54,000 female) of which Kuwaitis constitute 60,000 and non-Kuwaitis 26,000, in addition to 42,000 widows (5,000 male and 37,000 female), among them 31,000 Kuwaitis and 11,000 non-Kuwaitis.
