Corn dhokla

Ingredients

Besan/kadalai maavu - 1 cup
Rava/ semolina - 1/2 cup
Curd -1 cup
Sweet corn kernels- 1 cup
Green chillies -2
Ginger -1 small pieces
Salt -1tsp
Lemon juice- 2-3 tsps
Baking soda-1/2 tsp

For tempering

Oil- 3tsps
Mustard seeds- 1tsp
Jeera- 1tsp
Curry leaves- 4-5
Asafoetida- a pinch

Method

Grease a tray/pan which can be used in steaming.
Grind the sweetcorn kernels,green chillies and ginger to a smooth paste.
Combine the besan,rava salt and curd.
Add the ground sweet corn paste.
Mix well.
Add the lemon juice.
Add the baking soda and pour the made batter immediately in the greased tray.
Place the tray/pan in a steamer.
Steam the mixture for 15 to 20 minutes till cooked.
 Make a seasoning by mixing all the ingredients under tempering.
Add the seasoning on the steamed dhokla.
Spread it with a spoon.
Allow it to cool a little.
Slice with a knife into squares.
Serve with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
