Red velvet cupcake

Ingredients

125 gms maida
¼ cup butter
¾ cup sugar powder
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp cocoa
¼ cup buttermilk
1 tbsp red colour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp vinegar
A pinch of baking powder

Method

Sieve maida with cocoa and baking powder
Mix buttermilk with red colour and keep aside
Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy
Separate the eggs
Add egg yolks to the batter and beat
Add vanilla and buttermilk
Fold gently
Mix in the maida
Now, add baking soda with the vinegar till it bubbles
Blend into the batter and pour immediately into cupcake liners Bake at 180°C for 10-12 mins till done
Frost with cream cheese frosting or any other icing as desired
